China Shares in Hong Kong Halt Five-Day Gain as Oil Shares Fall

Chinese shares listed in Hong Kong fell on the first day of trading in the Lunar New Year, halting the longest winning streak since July, as energy shares slid.
China Petroleum & Chemical Corp. and PetroChina Co. each lost at least 1 percent. Galaxy Entertainment Group Ltd. dropped 3.2 percent after Credit Suisse Group AG predicted Macau gaming revenue will be weak during the Lunar New Year holiday. Kaisa Group Holdings Ltd. retreated 3.7 percent after the company buying the troubled homebuilder called for creditors to allow a suspension of payments to avoid bankruptcy. Tencent Holdings Inc. led gains on the Hang Seng Index after a surge in holiday gift-giving over its WeChat messaging platform.
