A powerful and deadly bacterial “superbug” discovered in December at a Los Angeles hospital may have been exposed to 179 people while infecting seven patients and being implicated in two deaths.
After finding a first case in December, the University of California at Los Angeles Health System said patients may have been exposed to carbapenem-resistant Enterobacteriaceae during medical procedures from October to January.
