Yemen’s Houthis said they’ll set up a five-member council to rule the country for two years, replacing the president who quit last month after he was sidelined by rebel gains.
The Houthis announced a new government system in a decree broadcast on local television. It dissolved the current parliament, elected in 2003, and said a national council of 551 members will be appointed to replace it. That assembly will then choose the five-member executive body.
