Greek Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis has long been a prolific blogger highlighting the causes of, and solutions to, Greece’s financial problems as he saw them.
Part of this campaign was a deep mistrust of the Greek statistical authority, Elstat, which came to a head in a post Varoufakis wrote in April 2014 titled “Greek statistics are back: Primary deficit presented as surplus, with Eurostat’s seal of approval.”
