Sharp Corp.’s energy business had a 1.6 billion yen loss ($14 million) for the three months ended Dec. 31 as sales from outside Japan and from solar panels at home declined.

The operating loss at the electronics maker’s energy solutions unit, known previously as the solar cells product group, compares with a profit of 5.9 billion yen a year ago.
