Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc. fell in late trading after posting fourth-quarter same-store sales that trailed analysts’ estimates and saying that higher food costs slowed profit gains.
Sales at restaurants open at least 13 months grew 16.1 percent in the quarter, the Denver-based company said Tuesday in a statement. The average of analysts’ projections compiled by Consensus Metrix was for a 16.5 percent increase.
