Anadarko Official Says Company Didn’t Pay for Spill Cleanup

Anadarko Petroleum Corp. didn’t pay any response or cleanup costs for the 2010 Gulf of Mexico oil spill, a witness for the company told a judge in a trial to determine pollution fines for the disaster.
That may undermine Anadarko’s argument that it shouldn’t be fined for the spill, while the U.S. government seeks more than $1 billion from the company.
