Nordea Bank AB raised its dividend by 44 percent after the Nordic region’s largest bank reported a bigger increase in profit than estimated. The shares rose the most in more than three years.
Nordea will pay its owners 0.62 euro a share for 2014, up from 0.43 euro a year earlier, the Stockholm-based bank said in a statement today. That beat the 0.57 euro Bloomberg BDVD forecast, which takes into account factors such as company guidance, analyst estimates and regression analysis. The dividend for last year corresponds to a payout ratio of 70 percent of profit, compared with a target of more than 40 percent.
