Brazil economists for the fourth week in a row raised their inflation forecast for this year and lowered their estimate for economic growth, as the central bank boosts rates to tame above-target inflation.
Analysts see inflation this year of 6.99 percent, up from the previous week’s estimate of 6.67 percent, and cut their gross domestic product growth forecast to 0.13 percent from 0.38 percent, according to the Jan. 16 central bank survey of about 100 analysts published today.
