Air France-KLM Group’s French unit said it has told employees that it will seek to cut 800 additional jobs among cabin crew and ground staff as it fights to return to profit and remain competitive.

Management met with the workers’ council today to outline the financial situation of the group and begin discussing measures that would help improve profitability, the parent company said in a statement. Some 7,500 jobs have already been lost over the last three years at the parent company.
