Bombardier Inc.’s plan to delay its Learjet 85 business aircraft program adds to years of setbacks for two of the planemaker’s newest models.
The company announced today that it would pause work on the Learjet 85 in the face of weak demand. The Montreal-based aircraft maker’s failed attempts to debut its first all-composite aircraft are coupled with setbacks of its CSeries jetliner. The CSeries is Bombardier’s biggest jet, designed to compete with the smaller planes from Boeing Co. and Airbus Group NV. It was originally scheduled to enter service in 2013.
