Iran said a cartoon depicting the Prophet Muhammad on this week’s cover of Charlie Hebdo is insulting to Muslims, while it again denounced the assault on the magazine’s office in Paris that killed 12 people.
Iran “condemns terrorism anywhere in the world,” because it is “against Islam’s teachings,” Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Marzieh Afkham told reporters in Tehran today. “On the other hand, we disapprove of provocative moves and this weekly’s undertaking is insulting and will provoke the feelings of Muslims.”
