Former MTA Chief Walder Pushes Citi Bike Toward Doubling in Size

Ensuring that time-crunched New Yorkers aren’t searching in vain for a spot to return their Citi Bikes is among the challenges facing the operator as it doubles the the program’s size, said Jay Walder, chief executive officer.

“We want to ensure bikes are available and serviced in an effective and efficient way,” Walder said in an interview at Bloomberg headquarters in New York, where he announced the renaming of the operating company to Motivate from Alta Bicycle Share. “Our job is to bring the business acumen and logistics.”
