Tesco Cuts Branded-Goods Prices as U.K. Grocery War Escalates

Tesco Plc said it’s cutting the prices of hundreds of branded products by 25 percent on average as the U.K.’s largest grocer fights back against discounters and competitors in a shrinking British grocery market.
Prices of about 380 items including Hovis bread, Coca-Cola, Marmite spread and Tetley tea bags will be lowered across all store formats, the Cheshunt, England-based company said today.
