Shake Shack Reveals Supply Challenges in Russia, Middle East

Vladimir Putin’s spat with the U.S. might be harming the taste of Shake Shack Inc. burgers in Russia.
The burger chain, which announced today that it was planning to go public, said that sanctions enacted by Russia against U.S. imports have led its licensee in the country to use ingredients that may be lower-quality than what Shake Shack fans are used to. The company has granted the licensee approval to get alternative supplies that aren’t affected by the sanctions, according to a securities filing.
