Takeda Names Sanofi’s Plump as Head of Research

Takeda Pharmaceutical Co., Asia’s biggest drugmaker, named Sanofi’s Andrew Plump as the next head of research and development as the company pursues its search for new medicines.

Plump, 49, senior vice president for research and translational medicine and a member of Sanofi’s global leadership team, will join Takeda Feb. 1, Kazumi Kobayashi, a Takeda spokesman in Tokyo, said by telephone today. Plump, a U.S. national, will be based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Kobayashi said.
