Russian bread prices have risen as much as 10 percent in the past month, according to retailers, as surging costs for flour add to food-price inflation in a country that is self-sufficient in wheat and even exports it.

Bakeries introduced price increases in November, said Vladimir Rusanov, a spokesman for X5 Retail Group NV, which raised bread prices by about 7 percent this month. OAO Dixy Group and O’Key Group SA received similar notices from bread suppliers, their press offices said.
