Taliban Militants Attack IRD Compound in Kabul Wounding One

Taliban militants stormed the International Relief and Development compound in Kabul, wounding a Nepalese security guard, a government official said.

Three insurgents attacked the compound after a loud explosion in the diplomatic neighborhood of Wazir Akbar Khan, Mohammad Ayub Salangi, Deputy Interior Minister said by phone. Two were shot dead by police after a gun battle of more than two hours and one was still resisting, he said.
