China Body Expels H.K. Delegate After Protest Dissent

China’s top advisory body expelled a Hong Kong delegate and pro-business politician after he said the city’s chief executive should consider resigning as protests calling for democracy entered a fifth week.
The Standing Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference passed a resolution yesterday to remove James Tien, fellow delegate Chan Wing-kee told Cable TV in Beijing. People have lost trust in Chief Executive Leung Chun-ying’s government and the city is on the verge of becoming ungovernable, Radio Television Hong Kong cited Tien as saying in a Oct. 25 report.
