German Soccer Hooligans Protesting Salafists Riot in Cologne

Several thousand soccer hooligans and neo-Nazis demonstrating against Salafist followers in the German city of Cologne clashed with police last night, injuring 44 officers, as a march that started peacefully turned violent.
Police were assailed with fireworks and other objects in the riots that extended into the evening, authorities said in a statement. Several vehicles were damaged.
