Ohio Cuts to Early Voting Days Blocked by Federal Judge

Ohio must restore about a week of early voting before the November general elections after it was eliminated by lawmakers earlier this year, a federal judge ruled in the latest case over the state’s voting laws.
The reduction signed into law in February by Republican Governor John Kasich violates the federal Voting Rights Act and is unconstitutional, U.S. District Judge Peter Economus ruled today in Columbus, Ohio.
