IAC’s HomeAdvisor Buys Stake in Mhelpdesk Startup

IAC/InterActiveCorp is trying to make life easier for the plumbers and house painters hired through its HomeAdvisor business by acquiring a majority stake in Mhelpdesk, a management software startup.
Mhelpdesk’s software helps businesses schedule appointments, track work orders and invoices and manage tasks on a smartphone. The software will be made available to HomeAdvisor’s more than 80,000 home improvement professionals to help improve their services and draw more customers, said HomeAdvisor Chief Executive Officer Chris Terrill. IAC plans to announce the deal today, and financial terms aren’t being disclosed.
