Manchester City agreed to pay Porto 30.5 million euros ($40.8 million) to acquire France defender Eliaquim Mangala, the Premier League champion’s sixth signing since agreeing to cap its transfer spending.
City paid the amount for 56.7 percent of Mangala’s so-called economic rights, Porto said in a regulatory filing yesterday. City, which has to acquire all of his rights under Premier League rules, declined to give the total fee.
