North Dakota Couples Sue to Overturn State Gay Marriage Ban

North Dakota is no longer the last U.S. state with an unchallenged ban on same-sex marriage.

A gay couple sued Republican Governor Jack Dalrymple and Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem in federal court in Fargo today to overturn the ban, while six other couples sued to have their marriages, conducted out of state, recognized in North Dakota. The couples contend the bans violate their constitution rights.
