Fisher Says Fed Should Begin Tapering QE As Soon As Possible

Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas President Richard Fisher said the U.S. central bank should begin dialing back its asset purchases as soon as possible in an economy that doesn’t need any more monetary stimulus.
“We should get started as soon as possible,” Fisher said to reporters after giving a speech in Chicago today, referring to when the Fed should begin reducing the pace of its bond buying. The economy has “enough firepower already if it’s properly used.”
