A new global ratings firm seeking to challenge Standard & Poor’s Ratings Services, Moody’s Investors Service and Fitch Ratings, may publish its first reports in early 2014 if initial financing can be secured this year, Markus Krall, the chief executive officer of the European Rating Agency Projektgesellschaft GmbH, said.

“I hope to close the funding in 2012,” Krall, a former senior partner at Roland Berger Strategy Consultants GmbH, said in an interview in Frankfurt on Aug. 29. “If all goes well, we will be in the market in early 2014, starting with sovereign ratings, and followed three months later by corporates.”
