Nov. 28 (Bloomberg) -- Italy’s Serie A agreed to a new three-year contract with sports media company MP & Silva for overseas broadcast rights to the country’s top soccer league.
MP & Silva, based in London and Singapore, acquired the rights to sell Serie A matches from the 2012-13 season through 2014-15, it said in a press release today. Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.
“Since 2004 Italian Serie A has been our flagship property, therefore we are glad to have confirmed those rights also for the next seasons,” Riccardo Silva, president of MP & Silva, said.
The deal allows MP & Silva the rights to sell live coverage of the 20-team league in any territory except Italy.
