Canada, U.S. Agree to Pursue ‘Perimeter’ Security Arrangement

Canada and the U.S. agreed to step up efforts to secure their borders, in a bid to lower barriers to the flow of goods and people between the two countries.
President Barack Obama and Prime Minister Stephen Harper issued a statement today in Washington that commits the two countries to work toward setting up a “perimeter” approach to North American security, streamlining regulations on goods crossing the border, integrating law enforcement and co-operating on “critical infrastructure and cyber-security.”
