An outbreak of cholera in the north eastern Nigerian state of Adamawa has claimed at least 350 lives in the past week, mainly children and the elderly, ThisDay reported.

The casualty figure could be higher as many of the affected areas are in mountainous regions that are difficult to reach, the Lagos-based newspaper said, citing Ibrahim Saadu, a community spokesman.
