Gazprom Picks Dutch Company for Northern Gas Pipeline

OAO Gazprom, the world's biggest natural-gas producer, picked a Dutch partner for a northern European pipeline venture to gain customers for its fuel.

Nederlandse Gasunie NV, which manages the Dutch natural-gas network, signed an agreement today for 9 percent of the project in a ceremony at the Kremlin, Gazprom said in an e-mailed statement. As part of the deal, Gazprom took an option for 9 percent of the Gasunie-led Balgzand Bacton Line, a pipeline from the Netherlands to the U.K.
