Peruvian lawmakers voted to rescind a youth labor law introduced last year as part of the government’s efforts to bolster economic growth.

Legislators voted 91-18 in favor of annulling the law with five abstentions. The result was greeted with cheers by university students who marched in downtown Lima to protest the law, according to images broadcast by Lima-based Canal N. It was the fifth march since Congress passed the law last month.
