Google is close to investing about $1 billion in Space Exploration Technologies Corp. in a deal that values the closely held company at $10 billion or more, according to a person familiar with the matter, who asked not to be identified because the matter is private. The investment would be strategic for SpaceX, which is exploring new ways to connect people to the Internet, said the person. The Information earlier reported on the deal, saying it would be used to spread online services to underserved parts of the world.
