Four EU Countries Propose Steps to Counter Russia’s Propaganda

The U.K., Denmark, Lithuania and Estonia are urging the European Union to jointly confront Russian propaganda.

The four countries will ask the 28-nation bloc to set up a “permanent platform” to work with NATO in “strategic communications’ and boost local Russian-language media and tightening regulatory oversight, according to a letter their foreign ministers sent to EU foreign-policy chief Federica Mogherini on Jan. 8. The topic is due to be discussed at a meeting in Brussels Jan. 19.
