Pope Francis arrived in the Philippines today to rally millions of faithful in Asia’s most-Catholic country and offer comfort to victims of the biggest typhoon in recorded history.
“It will be like a father visiting his children; the Pope will visit people hit by calamities, victims, people suffering,” said Gregory Gaston, rector of the Philippine Pontifical College in Rome. “It can be an opportunity to renew the faith of the biggest Catholic nation in Asia.”
