Bank of England Governor Mark Carney said inflation could slow further in the coming months, backing his argument to keep interest rates at a record low.

Commenting after consumer-price growth cooled to 0.5 percent in December, matching a record low, Carney said the inflation outlook is “a little softer” and that this may affect the interest-rate path.
