Winter thus far has been a mix of cold and mild weather, nothing like last year’s series of polar blasts across the Midwest and into the eastern U.S.

With such ups and downs, natural gas traders betting on rising demand and rising prices have been left looking for glimmers of hope for cold in the remaining weeks of the season. The search may have to extend into February and beyond.
