Times Reporter Says He Won’t Testify as CIA Leak Trial Looms

New York Times reporter James Risen said he won’t answer questions at an ex-CIA agent’s leak trial that could reveal the identity of a confidential source, as defense lawyers sought dismissal of the case in part due to his refusal.
Risen appeared today in federal court in Alexandria, Virginia to say whether he would answer questions on a limited number of topics in the trial next week of Jeffrey Sterling, a former CIA agent accused of leaking Risen information.
