Petrus Leads Sotheby’s London Auction With Romanee-Conti

Chateau Petrus from Bordeaux’s Pomerol region accounted for eight of the top 10 lots at a Sotheby’s wine auction in London yesterday as 12 bottles of the estate’s 1982 vintage sold for 37,600 pounds ($59,050).

A case of Petrus 1990 fetched 28,200 pounds and 12 bottles of its 1998 vintage reached 21,150 pounds, according to e-mailed results from Sotheby’s. The sale totaled 1.76 million pounds, its highest figure for a London wine auction this year.
