U.K. Manufacturing Unexpectedly Posts First Drop Since May

U.K. manufacturing output unexpectedly fell for the first time in five months in October, highlighting the risks to the economic recovery.
Output dropped 0.7 percent after rising 0.6 percent in September, the Office for National Statistics said today in London. The median estimate in a Bloomberg News survey was for a gain of 0.2 percent. Total industrial production fell 0.1 percent. An increase of 0.2 percent was predicted.
