German Defense Minister Ursula von der Leyen opened the country’s first U.S.-style recruitment office today in a push to attract more young people to the army.
Von der Leyen’s in-person pitch at the office in the center of Berlin was drowned out by about 50 protesters shouting in front of the building and holding signs reading “No advertisements for dying.”
