New York Yankees General Manager Brian Cashman in two days will join about 225 people sleeping on the streets of Manhattan in potentially freezing temperatures to raise awareness for homeless children.

The Nov. 20 sleep out is part of a nationwide initiative and supports New York-based Covenant House. It begins with a candlelight vigil in Times Square and includes performances by Broadway actors before the participants walk to the Covenant House shelter on 41st Street.
