Vodafone to Start U.K. Internet Service to Take On BT, EE

Vodafone Group PlcBloomberg Terminal, the British wireless carrier, will add a fixed-line Internet and TV service for consumers in the U.K. next year to prevent users from switching to bundled offers from BT Group Plc and EE Ltd.

The broadband package will be available in the spring and use the network from Vodafone’s Cable & Wireless Worldwide Plc acquisition as well as infrastructure from BT. Chief Executive Officer Vittorio Colao, on a call with reporters, declined to comment on whether Vodafone will use a partner for the TV service.
