China’s Singles' Day Sales Fuel 80% Rise in Commerce Apps

Downloads of mobile commerce applications in China climbed almost 80 percent in October from a year earlier as more consumers use smartphones to shop online as part of the country’s Singles Day holiday sales.

Increasing popularity of mobile shopping boosted the average rank of m-commerce apps to No. 169 in October from 227 a year earlier, analytics company App Annie said in a statement, citing its iPhone download data.
