As bad as things have gotten on the world’s oldest power exchange, they are about to get worse.
Volume on Nasdaq OMX Group Inc.’s market in Oslo is poised to fall for a sixth consecutive year to its lowest level since 2000, according to energy traders Bixia AB and Telge Kraft AB. The Nordic Association of Electricity Traders says the drop will intensify when a ban on banks guaranteeing deals begins in 16 months, cutting volume by half and boosting costs for buying and selling fivefold.
