China to Promote Utility-Scale Solar Power Projects

China will draft plans to promote utility-scale projects in sunny areas after the nation installed a record amount of panels last year and became the world’s biggest market for the technology.
The pace of building solar farms surpassed the ability of transmission grids to absorb the power in some areas, the National Energy Administration said in a statement on its website released today and dated Oct. 9. Areas with large unused land and good grid conditions will be identified.
