Microsoft Said to Sign Letter to Acquire Israel’s Equivio

Microsoft Corp. has signed a letter of intent to acquire Israeli text-analysis startup Equivio, said a person familiar with the company’s plans, as the software maker bulks up products for analyzing data.

The agreement should be concluded in a matter of weeks, although other bidders may step in, said the person, who asked not to be identified because the talks are private.
