Germany and France are weighing whether to dispatch drones to eastern Ukraine to monitor a cease-fire between Ukrainian troops and pro-Russian separatists.

German Defense Minister Ursula von der Leyen said the two nations are considering whether to take on a request by the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe to send drones. It’s “still too early” to know whether such a mission would require a parliamentary mandate needed to approve foreign military engagements, she told ARD television.
