Former Tesco Plc Chief Financial Officer Laurie McIlwee wasn’t required to work out the final six months of his contract, covering most of the period currently under investigation for overstated first-half profit estimates.

During the transition period from April 4, when he resigned, “Laurie has in fact not been called upon by Tesco and has not been involved or had any input to any financial matters or held any position of responsibility in the company,” Tesco said in an e-mailed statement today.
