BTG Hires Ontario Teachers’ Royan for London Equities Business

Grupo BTG Pactual, billionaire Andre Esteves’s investment bank, hired William Royan from Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan to start an equities unit in London as it expands its asset-management operations.
The team will invest on a global basis, a spokesman for the bank in London said by e-mail today. Royan, who was head of relationship investing at the Canadian pension plan, joined BTG as a partner, member of the global management committee, and chief investment officer this month, his LinkedIn profile shows.
