Hui Denies Favoring Sun Hung Kai When He Was HK Official

Rafael Hui, accused of taking bribes from the billionaire brothers who run Sun Hung Kai Properties Ltd., denied being favorably disposed to the Hong Kong developer when he was the city’s No. 2 official.

He also told Hong Kong’s High Court on his first day of testimony today that he didn’t think there was a conflict of interest when he was head of the Hong Kong pension authority, which agreed to renew a lease at a Sun Hung Kai property while he was negotiating a consultancy with the company.
